Focus area: Community assistance and connection

The Geelong Cats have been giving back to the community for more than 160 years. When it comes to helping those in need, the Cats have Cats Care, which comprises of Cats Assist, Cats Wishes and Ward Walks.

Cats Assist

Each year, more than 10,000 items are donated across Australia to assist not-for-profit organisations, fundraising groups and individuals in times of need.

Cats Wishes 

For Cats fans going through particularly hard times, the Geelong Cats look to create special experiences to bring some joy into their lives, whether that’s in the form of a gift from the club, a message from a player, or a training or game day experience.

Ward Walks 

Our players conduct monthly visits to the Children’s Ward and/or Andrew Love Cancer Centre at the Barwon Health Foundation University Hospital to bring joy to young people in a tough time. In 2022, ongoing COVID restrictions have seen these visits continue as virtual visits, conducted over Zoom, with our players look to still bring some positivity into the day of those in the wards.
